PATISHAPTA (BENGALI SWEET)






































































































































INGREDIENTS

Coconut : 1 piece (medium size – grated)
Maida : 1 cup
Rawa : 1/2 kilo
Milk : 1 ½ cup
Jaggery : 1 piece (small size)


PREPARATION

• Heat 2-3 tsp of ghee in a kadai
• Pour the grated coconut
• When there is no moisture left add jaggery and keep mixing constantly till jaggery dissolves and the coconut feels slightly sticky
• Stir it well for 20-25 minutes
• Keep the coconut mix separately in a plate
• Soak rawa in water for 30 minutes
• Take a saucepan and make a batter using maida, rawa and milk
• Add jaggery and stir it well till everything gets mixed properly
• Heat 1/2 tsp of oil in a non-stick pan
• Pour little batter on the pan
• Cook lightly then spread some coconut filling on the open batter and make a roll
• Serve it hot and relish it

  26. Dear Babli. This looks awesome. This is new to me too and I love Bengali sweets. What a great way to celebrate Holi..with an authentic sweet...I myself wanted to make Gujiya...but did not..maybe post Holi as I've heard the Holi celebrations go on upto 16 days..If thats the case I'm not late..LOL. I've missed many of ur posts..have not been very regular at blogging. Hope to catch up soon.
