FENNEL BASA WITH RED SALAD


















































































INGREDIENTS

Basa fish : 2 pieces
Fennel seeds : 1/2 tsp
Fish masala : 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Salt : 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder : 1/2 tsp
Beetroot : 1 piece
Onion : 1 piece (medium size)
Carrot : 1 piece
Tomato : 1 piece
Lemon juice : 1 piece


PREPARATION

• Marinate the fish with fish masala, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt and lemon juice and keep it aside for 25-30 minutes
• Steam beetroot and carrot
• Cut beetroot, carrot, onion and tomato in round shape and keep aside
• Heat 3-4 tsp of olive oil in a pan
• Add cumin seeds and wait for few seconds till it sizzle
• Fry the fish and turn both the sides till it becomes brown colour
• Serve the fish in a plate, decorate with beetroot, carrot, onion and tomato and scatter lemon juice on it
• Serve fish with dal and plain rice

  19. Ei fish tar naam kono din shune ni. Excuse me for my poor knowledge about fishes. But sounds very easy preparation. Can we make this fry with any other fish Babli?

    Very nice recipe indeed. I am going to try it with Indian Basa ( pangas), Mai mai and Arh ( SingaDa in north).
    I had Basa 1st time, when I was in Vietnam. This fish is available in Mekong river. Now 5 star hotels in India have started serving. One dish was published in Indian express, Basa cooked in orange sauce ...looks good
    The close equivalent of this fish in India is pangas and Bacha machh..they taste the same.
