PARWAL CURRY

































































































INGREDIENTS

Parwal : 1/2 kilo
Potato : 2-3 pieces (medium size)
Tomato : 1 piece (big size – finely chopped)
Salt : 1/2 tsp (as per taste)
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder : 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder : 1/2 tsp
Green chilly : 6-8 pieces
Bay leaf : 2-3 pieces


PREPARATION

• Cut parwal and potato into small pieces and keep aside
• Heat 6-8 tsp of oil in a kadai
• Pour parwal and potato and stir it well
• Add cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder and bay leaf
• Mix it well and stir it for 5-10 minutes
• Add tomatoes and green chilly
• Stir it again for 5-10 minutes
• Cover the kadai for 10-15 minutes till the potato becomes soft
• Serve it hot with roti/plain rice

  5. i always pass by this veggie in Indian stores but not sure hope to prepare them..when i visit there next time will purchase some and try out..thanks for the recipe..looks so mouth-watering:)

  14. Parval.... i haven't been able to find them here, Some times i see Tinde but not Parval, not even in Indian store :(

    Btw, haven't been able to be very regular on Blogs due to work pressure lately, but hoping it to change now !

    I have spent 3 years in Calcutta and have come across this vegetable in the markets there. But never knew how to prepare . Next time I find this vegetable I will try this out.
